If there is one player who marked the Olympique Lyonnais
during twenty’s, it is Juninho. International Brazilian arrived in Lyon in 2001
during the summer, he signs his first contract with the Olympique Lyonnais. He
has been observed for a long time by Marcelo Kiremitdjian Djian, the OL
(Olympique Lyonnais) Brazilian recruiter. In 2001, Juninho was totally unknown
in France and he is quickly going to show how an excellent football player and
free kicks shooter he is.
Indeed, little by little, Juninho is going to impose himself

During its career in the Olympique Lyonnais, Juninho’s
career summaries is awesome: he won seven times the French championship from
2002 to 2008 with the Olympique Lyonnais (a record in League 1, French
championship) and sees itself elected the best player of the year 2006 of the
French championship. He is also indicated, by the Labor-union Union of the Sports
correspondents of France (USJSF), ‘’as the sportsman of year 2006’’
anticipating Laure Manaudou (swimmer) and Sébastien Loeb (automobile pilote).
This distinction is awarded to him for its soccer player's qualities. The
Brazilian player also makes the French cover of the game ‘’FIFA 2007’’ with
Ronaldinho, proof of his star's status in France. During the season 2007-2008,

Juninho has marked the French football and his club history.
He will be for ever in the heart of supporters as an exceptional player. The
numerous awards that he received from supporters (several songs on his behalf)
or from his president (Jean-Michel Aulas), proves it. During his last match of League 1 on May 23rd,
2009, he has gone out in second period under the ovation of the public, and he
obtained at the end of the match a trophy from the chairman club (Jean-Michel
Aulas), rewarding his work during 8 seasons.
